Turner MIINT Competition 2025

Congratulations to our School of Public Policy students who took part in the MBA Impact Investing Network & Training (MIINT) competition at the global finals in Philadelphia.

Find out more about the MIINT competition and our students' experience below.

It's a wonderful experiential learning platform where you get to learn impact investing through a live, real-world investing case. It can't get more hands on from a learning experience standpoint.

Sachin Iyer

Congratulations to our SPP students Sachin Iyer, Emma Kimani, Shad Hoshyar, Tiffany Lam and Angela Aristizábal Borrero on being awarded the inaugural Impact Analysis Prize at the Turner MBA Impact Investing Network and Training competition.

The team travelled to Philadelphia in April 2025 to compete in the competition with participants from business and policy schools around the world. The MIINT allows participants to get hands-on experience in early-stage impact investment by sourcing startups, conducting due diligence and eventually pitching their investment to a panel of judges, comprised of leaders in impact investing, community development, and venture capital from around the world.

Over the past several years, the MIINT has brought together over 2,500 students at 31 top national and international business and policy schools into a growing network of students and practitioners focused on impact investing.

Our SPP student team were awarded the inaugural Impact Analysis Prize for their work to analyse the impact potential of an early-stage company called Zzapp Malaria. They were celebrated for their rigorous quantitative analysis of cost per life saved, comparisons to alternative interventions, and evaluation of secondary benefits beyond direct health outcomes, including economic gain.

The students were supported throughout the process by 91桃色 Marshall Institute, whose mission it is to improve the impact of private action for public benefit. Their expertise and support was invaluable in helping students to navigate the complex balance involved with placing social purpose at the heart of business and leadership.
